Settlers try to stop olive harvest in Turmus Ayya; residents push them back, sources say

The settlers retreated toward an outpost set up on the town’s plain late last year, local sources told WAFA.

A group of settlers attacked olive pickers in the northeast of Turmus Ayya, north of Ramallah, on Wednesday morning and tried to stop the harvest, local sources told WAFA. Residents confronted them and forced them back toward the outpost settlers set up on the town’s plain.

According to WAFA, settlers established that outpost at the end of last year, and Israeli bulldozers uprooted more than 2,000 olive trees to open a road linking it to Shilo settlement, which is built on the town’s land.
